Product Empties – Dec/Jan

It is again that time to see what is in my trash! No but really. I’m gonna be showing you the few products I have used up in the last couple of months. I never seem to go through makeup quickly at all, probably because I’ve got enough for a family of 4. But, here are a few of my skincare, body, and haircare empties from the past could months.

First up, the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. This was the first time I had tried this after hearing so much about it over the years. Well to put it out there immediately, it smells amazing. It smells quite almondy but like an intoxicating almond. When you use this your whole bathroom smells like almond. This makes your skin feel so good after you rinse it off. I wasn’t sure how well it was going to lather up because it’s an oil but it didn’t disappoint. I also learned that it’s great to shave your legs with.

I have always loved the Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer. The scent is very fresh and the lotion sinks into the skin quite quickly and leaves your skin feeling quite hydrated. This moisturizer also has SPF 15 so it’s great to wear outdoors. I don’t find that you need expensive day creams and this one works great.

In the fall and winter I find myself moisturizing a lot. Because of that I like a heavy lotion. Bath and Body Works Body creams are some of my favourite because they come in so many scents so there’s something for everyone. I loved this scent in Sensual Amber because it was warm and almost sexy (if a lotion can be sexy). My boyfriend also really liked the scent of this lotion so that made me want to wear it more.

My favourite drugstore conditioner is next. I absolutely love the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. It’s such a good deep conditioner for so little money. I think it’s around $4 but always on sale. It leaves my hair feeling really silky and the smell is so nice. I go through these quite quickly unfortunately but it doesn’t break the bank so I don’t mind that much.

Onto some drugstore skincare that I’m not so crazy about. I was hoping to find a nice night cream and eye cream from the drugstore. But, my quest continues. I tried the Olay Classic Night Cream and the L’oreal Eye Defence eye cream. The night cream wasn’t terrible but it just wasn’t my favourite. The scent was a little too floral for me and it didn’t give me the amount of hydration I wanted in a night cream. I like to put thick creams on my face at night time. Pretty much the same problem with the L’oreal Eye cream. It was more of a eye gel than eye cream. I ended up just using this for a day eye cream because it just wasn’t thick or hydrating enough for night time. It also had shimmer in it which made me think it was for daytime anyways, just to brighten. Overall, I wasn’t  fan.DSC00818

Would you be interested in seeing makeup that I’m tossing because it’s gone bad even though it might not be empty? Let me know!

Let me know what you’ve used up lately! Any drugstore skincare gems I should know about?
