Products I Regret Buying August 2016

These sorts of posts have become super popular and for good reason. It’s fun to see what products didn’t work out for someone. And saying that, this doesn’t mean that I don’t like these brands. All of these brands have products I love. Also, just because I may not like something doesn’t mean it won’t/doesn’t work for you.

Most of the products I’m going to talk about are drugstore and that is just because I do a lot of research before I buy anything high end to make sure it will work for me. So, if you’re nosy like I am and want to see what I regret spending my money on then read on!

First off is the Covergirl Clean Pressed powder. There is almost nothing I like about this powder. Its quite chalky and powdery. It looks like you’re wearing powder and I really don’t like that look. But, I could get past all of that if it was unscented. It has a very strong scent. It smells flowery and a bit old lady ish. The scent doesn’t linger but I don’t like smelling it as I’m putting it on my face.

I really wanted to like this. I wanted to find a stick foundation at the drugstore that was good but this was not it. This is the Flower Beauty Skincognito Stick Foundation. This foundation only has 8 shades in the range. This foundation is very greasy. It slips and slides around on my face all day. Even when I set it with a good powder it still doesn’t stay put.

Next up are the Dior Addict lipsticks. The two colours I have are Mauve Defile and Bobo. These lipsticks are incredibly hydrating and creamy on the lips. I just don’t like how they have a metallic finish. I know metallic lips are really in right now and I love the trend but only when a product is trying to be metallic. These aren’t. The metallic bits in these lipsticks feel like chunky glitter on my lips.

This product isn’t a total miss for me. Only half of it is a miss. This is the Nars Contour Blush in Olympia. As you can see I’ve used the crap out of the highlighting colour. The highlighting colour is so creamy, soft, and the perfect colour to put under my eyes. The contour blush I just don’t get. It’s not a blush colour I would use and I find it looks muddy on my skin tone if I try to contour with it. It’s too warm toned brown for my liking. If Nars could come out with these separately I would buy the highlighting colour in a heartbeat.
