March Favourites 2017

Well, I would love to say that spring is upon us but it seems like everytime we have a nice sunny day, it’s followed by a day that snows! C’mon mother nature, give us Canadians a break! But, with April here I thought I would round up some of my favourite products from the month of March.

I also thought this month I would include more than just makeup. I love to review all sorts of different products so I thought this would be nice. Let me know what you think!

My first favourite of the month is the Smashbox Contour Kit. This and the Kat Von D contour kit are my favourite contour kits. I’ve been reaching for this one a little more though because it’s smaller and I feel like the colours are more pigmented but a little lighter. This contour kit is great for someone starting out with contouring. I love the colour of the contour shade and of the bronzer colour. I also really like the highlighter colour in this kit as you can see from it being almost done.

Next would have to be something I picked up from Pixi Beauty. It is their Brow Duo. I went into Shoppers Drug Mart looking for a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Definer because I really like the shape of that and found this little bad boy. The pencil is not too soft that it applies too much powder and isn’t too stiff. The gel is also really nice to keep your brow hairs in place. This has been my go to brow product for a couple months now. I’m in the shade deep brunette. 

The Colourpop Super Shock Shadows are amazing. My favourite lately has been Nillionaire (Yes, it’s spelt that way). It’s a gorgeous metallic warm brown.  It has bronze and pink sparkles in it which sounds not very nice but it’s so pretty! It brings so much warmth to my eyes and really makes them pop.

Some hair products I’ve been really into lately has been the Banana Shampoo and Contioner from The Body Shop. This may sound strange to some people but does anyone remember the banana medicine you used to get as a child when you had an infection? This shampoo and conditioner smells exactly like that which I love! The scent lingers but not so much the Banana scent but just an amazing fruity smell. The set also makes my hair really soft and shiney. 

Next up is this amazing exfoliating mask. It’s the GlamGlow Flashmud Brightening Treatment. This has lightened up dark spots on my face from old breakouts so much. I’ve been using this about twice a week and I notice a difference in the tone and radiance of my skin. It is a rough exfoliator so might not be the best for sensitive skin but has done wonders for me. I’ll use this and them something really hydrating and it does magic. 

To go hand in hand with the brightening effect of that GlamGlow mask is the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic. If you haven’t heard of this product, where have you been? This is so hyped around the beauty community. This is basically an exfoliating toner. It’s not at all rough on the skin and doesn’t sting. It has 5% Glycolic Acid and works so well to brighten up my skin. When I am using this consistently, I don’t break out at all. It also smells amazing.
