May Beauty Favourites

May was an interesting month for me. It was the month of my sisters bridal shower that I planned, it was my birthday month, and it was the month I spent a week in bed sick with a terrible cold. For the entire week I was sick I didn’t wear makeup. It did great things for my skin but when I finally got to put makeup on again on my birthday, I felt amazing.

Isn’t it amazing that putting on makeup can instantly make you feel better and put you in a better mood? It’s on of the reasons I got into makeup. I love feeling great about myself and doing my makeup does that for me.

I don’t have too many products to talk about this month but the ones I do have are so so good!

After hearing so many people talk about the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and how amazing it is, I picked it up last month and decided to put it to the test. First off, the smell of this bronzer is unbelievable. It smells kind of like old school sunscreen mixed with a pina colada. It isn’t a great contour colour because it’s more on the warm side but it gives the skin such a nice sunlit glow. It does have a bit of a sheen to it but it’s hardly noticeable when it’s applied to the skin.

One of the standout products to me from my Ulta haul  is the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Golden Lights. It is definitely an ‘in your face’ sort of highlight. It’s not subtle in any sort of way but I have been so into bronzed skin with a poppin’ highlight. It’s a really nice light yellow gold colour and looks great on my fair skin.

Last product favourite of the month is the Colourpop Cosmetics Brow Colour in Bangin’ Brunette. It’s basically a brow pomade that is super affordable! It’s only $6 (USD) which is an amazing price for a brow pomade. It is applied with a brush and to do this I use my Tarte Cosmetics eyebrow brush that came with the Tarte pomade. It fills in my brows so nicely and I’m able to give them a really defined look. The only thing I don’t love about this product is how soft it is. Sometimes when I try to blend it out with a spooly I have to be careful not to smudge it.

What products were you loving this past month? Let me know in the comments!
