Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Brushes Palette | REVIEW

The hype surrounding this palette was so joke. If you don’t know who Jaclyn Hill is, she is one of the biggest beauty influencers on Youtube and in the beauty community. I have been watching her videos for years and am slightly obsessed with her. When she announced she was creating a palette I knew I needed it.

This palette became available on June 21 and of course, it was a day I was working and had no access to a computer. Considering how popular and successful Champagne Pop was, I knew this bad boy was going to sell out. So, my lovely boyfriend sat on the Morphe website for 30 minutes to get me a palette. Lucky for me, this palette sold out in 45 minutes.

Jaclyn collaborated with Morphe Brushes for over 2 years to create this palette. Jaclyn made a youtube video explaining this palette, all the colours and everything that went into making this. She said the eyeshadows are better made differently than Morphe’s regular eyeshadows and are better quality. She went in to talk about how important the quality of the eyeshadows are – pigmentation, blendability, and application.

This palette contains 35 brand new eyeshadows from Morphe and retails for 38$ (USD). You can use an affiliate code to get 10% off. But, all that being said it is much more expensive in Canada because of shipping and duties. Best to order with other people so it’s more cost efficient for us Canadians.

The shadows in the palette are mostly warm neutrals but it does have some amazing pops of colour (not the amazing turquoise and royal blue). It has some mattes, some satins, and some shimmer/metallics. The great thing about this palette is you can create a complete eyeshadow look.

I have created 4 different looks using this palette and have been super pleased with all of them. These shadows blend like an absolute dream. I love that I can use so many different colours in my crease but they look so seamless. I can honestly close my eyes, dip my brush into any of the warm colours, and create a gorgeous look. This palette is such nice colours for the summer but also have such nice burgundys and purples for the fall/winter time.

To me, the best shadows in this palette are the mattes and the satins. They are very pigmented and blend very easily. The shimmers/metallics aren’t my favourite formula ever but they aren’t terrible. They finger swatch quite well but don’t go on the most pigmented with a brush. When I use the shimmer eyeshadows I use Fix + to make them more pigmented.

I also wish the name of each individual eyeshadow were on the palette so I knew which ones I was using by name.

I have already posted a look of this eyeshadow palette on my Instagram and will be posting some more! Be sure to follow me @thinkingofmakeup if you want to see them.

If you’re in the market for a great eyeshadow palette that is really easy to use, I really recommend this one. But, if you’re in Canada, just remember the cost of shipping and duties may bite you.

The restock for this palette is happening July 18 at 8am PST! If you want it, get on it!

Did any of you pick up this palette? What do you think?
