August Beauty Favourites + 1 Unfavourite

As I said in my last post August was so nuts for me. I was very involved in 2 different weddings, went on a trip for a few days, and worked on top of all that. So, unfortunately, blogging took a back seat to all that. With all that busyness behind me, I am so ready to get back into makeup, beauty, and blogging. 

I know everyone says this but how is it almost September? 2017 is literally almost over. But, with that, I can finally talk about all the products I’ve been loving in the month of August! I’m pretty much just picking and choosing products I travelled with. If I travel with a product I know it’s reliable and I love it. I also included one product I’m not crazy about just to mix things up. 

So, if you want to know what products I have been loving (and one not so much) this past month then keep on reading!

I honestly can’t get enough of the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Palette. The colours are very much warm toned, which I love all year round and have been loving using this palette for a dramatic look and for a every day look. The colours blend so easily and look so nice on the eyes. I have a full review on this palette here. 

The Maybelline Fit Me concealer has been my concealer of the month. The product I probably get the most excited to try is concealer and this one is amazing. It isn’t super full coverage but I would say it’s medium to full. I find it very hydrating under the eyes and doesn’t crease on me if I set it immediately. It applies really nicely and blends really nicely as well. The colour I use is 15 Fair. The colour is perfect for me right now but is going to be too dark for my under eye when I get pale in the fall/winter. 

When I’m not at work I love having my nails painted. This summer my go to colour for my toes and my nails has been white. I’ve tried out a bunch of white polishes but this one from Nails Inc. is the best I’ve tried. It’s called White Out. It leaves my nails with a creamy, opaque white finish and makes them look so polished. 

My go-to everyday lipstick has been Mac Cosmetics Shy Girl. It’s a perfect peachy, brown nude for my skin tone. It pulls any look together. It is a pearl finish so it gives your lips that glossy look without having to put on a separate gloss. I love this lipstick.

This next product I have had for years but only just got back into it this month. It is a highlighter from The Balm called Mary-Lou Manizer. It’s a gorgeous champagne pearl colour. It gives my cheeks that wet look that I crave in the summer. You can make this product quite subtle but it can be built up to be pretty extreme. It may not look like much swatched but it’s absolutely stunning on the cheeks. 

My one and only disappointment of the month is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for Waterproof makeup. As you can see it has a layer of oil on top of the actual micellar water. I like my Micellar Water to be a one step cleanser and only have to use that. But, this Micellar Water left my face feeling very oily as if it was a regular makeup remover. I’m not into regular makeup removers for that reason so I did not like this Micellar water at all. I will be trying other Garnier Micellar Waters but this one was a pass for me.
