Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara: Worth The Price?

Mascara is one of those staple items in my makeup collection. I can be wearing no other makeup at all but when I have mascara on it opens up my eyes, makes me look more awake, and makes me look more pulled together. So, when this gorgeous Givenchy Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara arrived on my doorstep I was thrilled.

Today I’ll be doing a quick review on the Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara and whether or not I think it’s worth the price.

First of all lets talk about the packaging. In one word: luxury. It’s quite a heavy tube for a mascara and definitely feels expensive. I love the sleekness of the packaging and all black just looks super sharp.

This mascara also has quite a strong scent. It’s not an unpleasant scent but it smells like a perfume so if you are sensitive to smells I would stay away from this guy.

This mascara has a really innovative wand. It has a plastic wand that is completely flat on one side and they has spikey looking bristles on the other side. This wand also bends at a 90 degree angle to help you reach those hard to reach lashes and get mascara all the way from root to tip. This mascara is said to give you a lash extension effect with buildable volume and definition.

This mascara is $38 and can be purchased on the Sephora website here.

Let me start of by saying this, unfortunately, isn’t one of my favourite mascaras. I find the bendy wand really cool and it did do a great job of reaching all my lashes and coating them with mascara from root to tip but this mascara was just too natural for me. My lashes hardly hold a curl for any mascara and this one was no exception. I also couldn’t build up that much volume. It did give my lashes great definition and separated them really well.

I think this mascara is for you if you already have nicely curled lashes and a bit of volume. But, unfortunately for me I can’t say this is worth the luxury price tag.

Have you ever tried any luxury mascaras? Let me know!
