2017 Makeup Favourites

Another year gone, another year with me spending WAY too much money on makeup. It has gotten to the point that no one wants to get me makeup for christmas because they just assume I have all the makeup. Which, I mean, is so untrue. So if anyone reading this ever wants to get me a gift, I will happily accept more makeup.

With this being the start of 2018, a brand new year, I thought I would go through my makeup stash and round up all my favourite products from the last year. I’ll be sure to link any posts dedicated to individual products that I talk about.

If you’re interested to know what my top favourite makeup products of 2017 are then just keep reading!

Let’s start out with face products. I didn’t have a face primer from 2017 that stood out to me as a must have so, unfortunately I don’t have one. But, I am trying out some new ones so hopefully one will be amazing. My favourite foundation of the year has to be the L’oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation. It gives me a medium to full coverage and doesn’t dry my skin out at all. It gives my skin such a natural look but a perfected natural look. My favourite concealer is so widely talked about in the beauty community. The Tarte Shape Tape concealer is absolute perfection. Full, full, full coverage and so amazing. Get it if you don’t have it already. For powder, the RCMA No Colour Powder is my clear winner. It’s so affordable and sets makeup so nicely. I use it to bake under my eyes and it does such a great job.

For cheek products, my favourite bronzer is the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer. The smell is so good like coconuts and the product is so silky and blendable like butter. The colour is absolutely perfect and I’m told they are coming out with more colours! My favourite face highlighter of the year has to go to The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer. It’s the perfect colour for my skin tone when I’m got a smidgen of colour. If you have never tried it, please do.

I can only mention one tool that really stood out to me and that is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I love it way more than the beauty blender and it’s a fraction of the price. It blends out my foundation and concealer perfectly and makes baking so easy.

The only eyeshadow palette that I used consistently since it launched in June is the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Eyeshadow palette. It has 35 eyeshadows and you can create a complete eye look with this. Warm toned looks, cool toned looks, colourful looks. You can do it all. The Stila Magnificent Metal Eyeshadows launched this year and took the glitter lover community by storm. They are so amazing and are my favourite way to add a pop to any eye look. My favourite colour is Kitten Karma. My favourite mascara of all time is the Maybelline Lash Sensational in the waterproof formula. It gives my lashes such amazing definition, volume, and curls them like no other mascara.

I am particularly picky with lip products and I take them very seriously. I don’t take my favourite lip products of the year lightly. My favourite new launch of liquid lipsticks are the Maybelline Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick. The colour Lover is such a nice natural mauve colour. The formula on these is long-lasting, non-drying, and so pigmented. My other favourite liquid lipstick of the year is the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in Marvellous Mauve. It is a perfect darker mauve and the formula is probably my favourite formula of any liquid lipstick. Try these out immediately! My go-to nude lipstick of the year has been Mac Cosmetics Creme D’Nude. It is the perfect nude for my lip colour and goes great with any look. It has a pinky/peach undertone and is such an amazing colour.

What were your favourite makeup products from 2017? I’ll be following this with my skincare favourites!
