Maybelline Superstay 24HR Foundation | REVIEW

I’m not going to lie, I have never tried the old version of this foundation and had no idea they stopped making it. Anyways, I’m always down to try a new (and improved?) drugstore foundation. Since I never tried the original version of this foundation I have nothing to compare it to, other than the dozens of other foundations I have tried. I was super excited to try this out and hopefully find another drugstore foundation gem!

Today, we’ll be talking all about a new full-coverage foundation from Maybelline.

This, as taken from the Maybelline website is a full-coverage 24 hour wear foundation that won’t fade throughout the day. This product is lightweight, yet delivers lots of coverage and glides onto the skin seamlessly. It is oil-free and dermatologist tested.

The packaging of this foundation is really nice. It comes in a nice glass bottle and with a pump! Who doesn’t love a foundation with a pump.

When I applied this foundation for the first time, my initial thought was ‘they were not kidding with full coverage’. This is one of the most full coverage drugstore foundations I have ever tried. I applied this foundation with my real techniques beauty sponge and it applied beautifully. It blended with hardly any work at all! I use less than a pump of this foundation to get the perfect amount of coverage.

As you can tell from the photo below, half of my face has foundation and half is bare.

I did set this foundation with a powder and it lasted about 8 hours without fading on me. I found it had a matte finish on me but it’s not a flat matte by any means. Having dry skin I did have to use a hydrating foundation underneath which made the foundation much more comfortable.

This colour doesn’t match me perfectly but I think with concealer and powder it blends quite nicely. My only con about this foundation is that it does oxidize on my skin. I would suggest going lighter if you can.

Does this foundation last for 24 hours? Well, I’m not about to wear a foundation for 24 hours but I think it would still look decent after 24 hours.

Have you tried out this foundation? What do you think?

I LOVED the old version of this foundation and was gutted they discontinued it BUT I’m so happy they relaunched it. I do wonder if there’s truly anything different between the two except for updated packaging? I think possibly this might be higher coverage – the Better Skin version was medium to full coverage but not FULL full coverage like this. Your makeup looks fabulous!
