Juvias’s Place Nubian Eyeshadow Palette

As you might be able to tell, I love warm eyeshadow palettes. The eyeshadows look amazing throughout the entire year. They look good on every skin tone, every eye colour, and everyone. I also love supporting smaller beauty brands. The brand Juvia’s Place has gotten some recognition this past year in the beauty community and so I wanted to give their eyeshadows a try. Of course the Nubian Eyeshadow Palette called to me so I got it!

Today’s review will be all about the Juvia’s Place Nubian Eyeshadow Palette.

Juvia’s Place is an online beauty company that prides itself in rich, vibrant, and highly pigmented colours. They do all of this at an affordable price.

Nubian Eyeshadow Palette Price: $20 (USD). You can usually find a coupon code online to make it even cheaper!

This eyeshadow palette has 12 super pigmented, warm-toned eyeshadows. 4 eyeshadows are matte and 8 are shimmery. Even though the website doesn’t say there is any difference between the shimmer shadows, some of them are definitely more metallic and BAM then others. All of the shades are orange, warm browns, reds, or browns with purple tones.

The two lightest matte shades are so great for laying down transition colours. Both shades blend really nicely. They allow me to add darker shadows on top and blend them out easier. The two dark browns are also really nice and pigmented. There is a tough balance with matte eyeshadows being too pigmented to blend and pigmented enough to leave colour behind when you go to blend. Does that make sense?

I absolutely love all of the shimmer shades, except for the very first one in the palette. I don’t find it especially pigmented. I don’t find it leaves behind much pigment and more-so only leaves behind shimmer. The shadow in in the top right corner is amazing. It’s super pigmented and metallic.

These shadows do have a bit of kick-up in the palette but not so bad once you place them on the eyes. The only eyeshadows that kind of crumble when you put them on the eyes are the super metallic ones. I don’t really mind this because I just know with this palette I have to do my eye makeup before my face makeup.

It also sucks that this palette is online only and only available in USD. They do also charge you duties when shipping to Canada but they aren’t outrageous.

Have you tried this eyeshadow palette? What is your favourite warm-toned eyeshadow palette?
