Beauty Empties March 2018

Ever wanted to see what’s in my garbage? No? Well, you’re about to. I go through product all the time and I think it’s fun to see what products beauty junkies actually use up completely. You get a really good idea of the product when you use the whole darn thing. I mostly use up skincare and body care stuff but I do finish the occasional makeup item.

If you’re interested to know what beauty products I’ve used up recently and what I think of them, keep on reading!

The Good:

  • The Simple Micellar Water is my favourite cleansing water. It also helps that it’s like $8 at the drugstore. It does an amazing job at removing my makeup, doesn’t leave behind a film, and doesn’t sting my eyes. Love!
  • The Body Shop’s Body Butters are amazing. They are thick like butter and do an amazing job of hydrating the crap out of your skin. They leave you skin feeling soft for a good 2 days. The Shea scent is my absolute favourite. It smells kind of like a delicious man.
  • The Pixi Glow Mist is a great facial mist. I would use this during my nighttime routine before I would moisturize as a toner. I liked it because it was hydrating and left my skin feeling really fresh. I would buy this again!
  • First off, let me say I really love when eye creams don’t come in jars. It’s much more sanitary. Also, the Burt’s Bees Deep Hydration Eye Cream did a great job of hydrating my dry under eyes. I could use this during the day or at night. It looked great under makeup.

  • Mac Fix + is a cult favourite for a good reason. I’ll use this once I’m done with my face makeup and just mist it all over my skin. It cuts down on the powdery look of my skin and just makes all my makeup melt together. It leaves my skin looking natural and fresh.
  • The Pumpkin Sleeping Mask from Too Cool For School is a great, gel-like overnight mask. I loved the smell of this so much! It did a great job of hydrating my dry skin. Can we tell theres a theme here that I have dry skin? When I woke up after using this, my skin was plump and brightened!

The Meh:

  • I love Moroccan Oil products but their body souffle wasn’t my favourite. The smell was amazing! Just like all the other Moroccan Oil products but I didn’t find it hydrated my body that well at all. The moisture just didn’t last on my skin. I do want to try their body butter, though.
  • From what I can remember the Wet N Wild Highlight and Concealer Pen was just okay. It looked really natural under my eyes but I like a full coverage concealer under there. I have dark circles that are no joke and they need to be covered. It was just okay!
  • I so wanted to like the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist but I just didn’t love it for the price it is. Yes, it made my skin look very dewy and nice but I can find face mists that aren’t $70 that do the same thing. Just wasn’t my favourite.

And that’s it! I didn’t have any bad products this time around and I’m super happy about it!
