Herbivore Orchid Facial Oil

If you have been reading my blog for a while or even if you’ve caught a few of my posts you know that I have dry skin and I love facial oil. I’m always looking for the next best one to make my skin look incredible. I was stumbling through the Sephora Website and came across the Herbivore Orchid Youth-Preserving Facial Oil. It had great reviews and the description of the product spoke to me.

Today I’ll be talking all about the Herbivore Orchid Facial Oil.

This facial oil has lush, exotic floral oils that replenish hydration and give the skin a youthful glow. It defends against free radials in the skin that can make you look older. It has orchid extract, jasmine sambac, and Japanese camellia flower oil to help support elasticity and feed the skin vitamins. It also protects against dryness by forming a lipid layer barrier.

This oil can be used morning or night. You can apply up to 10 drops on the skin and a bit less if it’s during the day. Makeup can be applied on top of this oil. This oil smells quite strongly of Orchid.

The price of this oil is $66 (CAD) and can be purchased on the Sephora website here

After using this oil for about 2 weeks now my skin is very smooth and I’ve actually noticed a change in the elasticity in my skin. Now that I’m almost 26 I have deeper smile lines and deeper forehead lines that look much worse with makeup on top of them. This oil makes my face look more plump and makes my lines look less defined. If I’m having a really dry day, I’ll use this oil in combination with my night cream and my skin looks super hydrated.

This oil is really great to use at night but my favourite way to use it is actually during the day underneath my makeup. It sinks into the skin in about 5 minutes. My foundation glides onto my skin and doesn’t look heavy or cakey at all. I find my foundation can look dry really easily but my skin looks really nice and hydrated with this product.

The only downfall with this facial oil is the scent I would say. If you are at all sensitive to scents this will probably bother you. It smells pretty strongly of Orchids. The scent does go away when it sinks into the skin.
