Water Face Powder? Ft. Becca Cosmetics

Have you ever wanted to put on face powder and it be made of 50% water? Becca Cosmetics Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder has just answered all of your dreams. As a person with dry skin, I always dread putting face powder on because I know it has to set my foundation but it can also make me look super dry. If I apply to much it makes my face look cakey. If I don’t apply enough, my cheek products don’t blend out well enough.

When this super interesting product came out and I started to see reviews, I knew I had to try it.

The Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder is a super revolutionary powder because it’s first ingredient is water. It is meant to feel like you are putting a mist on your face when applying this powder. The name of this powder is absolutely bang on. It feels like a refreshing mist as you apply it to you skin.

It is an ultra-finely milled powder that has light-reflecting properties. It is meant to look smoother over the skin and blur imperfections.

This powder can be purchased at Sephora and it is $46 (CAD).

I really love the packaging of this powder because of the netting. This is a very non-messy powder. You just dip your brush into the netting and that is how you get the product. Then, when your done using it, you just close the the lid and voila, no mess at all.

Unfortunately for me, this powder didn’t work out for me. No matter what foundation I put this on top of, it made my foundation look really patchy. It made it look like my foundation was coming off in certain spots like around my nose, on my chin, and under my eyes. I wasn’t able to bake with this powder which is a big thing in a translucent powder. It felt absolutely amazing to put on but pretty much as soon as I would put it on, it made my skin look like crap.

I also think it made my foundation and concealer oxidize, or look darker, than it truly is.

Overall, a really cool, inventive product. But, it didn’t work out for me.

Have you tried this powder? What did you think?
