Vichy Aqualia Thermal Power Serum

I don’t know about any of you but I am constantly changing up my skincare routine. I hardly ever buy the same thing twice. So, when I ran out of my previous serum I knew I wanted to try something different and something more hydrating for my dry winter skin. I was talking with one of the Beauty Boutique sales associates about this and she suggested I try the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Power Serum. I, of course, then looked up reviews online about this serum. The reviews were great so I decided to get it!

Lets first off talk about what a serum is. A serum is a lightweight moisturizer that actually penetrates the skin deeper than a traditional moisturizer does. Different serums can have different purposes such as; anti-aging, hydration, clearing blemishes, etc. Serums are for people who are looking to go that extra mile in their skincare routine.

Now, onto the Vichy Serum!

The Claims: It is a powerful serum that provides 48 hour hydration for all skin types. Can be worn day or night because it is not sticky or oily. This serum contains 3 ingredients to stimulate water movement from cell to cell for a more radiant complexion. These ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid, a hydration/plumping agent, Aquabioryl, a Vichy patented ingredient that is ultra moisturizing, and λ-carrageenans, locks hydration in a distributes it evenly within the skin.

The price: When I purchased this it was $42 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart. It is on sale at Vichy.ca for $35.70.

Overall, I really like this serum. I like the consistency of it. It’s not thick but it’s not too watery by any means. It goes on the skin so smooth and almost feels a little cooling which is really nice.

I also like that it provides great hydration underneath my moisturizer. I’m very high maintenance with my skincare so I put this on after my eye cream and toner but before my moisturizer. I notice a difference in the hydration of my skin when using this serum. My complexion is for sure more radiant. I can’t attest to the plumping effect because I don’t really have fine lines but this really does hydrate! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to go that extra step in their skincare and suffers from dry or even combination skin.

I would repurchase this but knowing me, I won’t for a while. It is really great though!

Is serum part of your skincare routine? What one do you use?
