Transitioning Your Makeup From Summer to Fall

The crisp air, the smell of people lighting fires in their homes, and the changing leaves. Thats what some people love about fall. What I love about fall is not sweating every time I leave the house, leggings being a completely viable outfit option, and changing my makeup to darker colours. Although I do love summer makeup, I absolutely love changing my makeup with the seasons.

When it comes to fall, some switches in your makeup collection are easy to do to change up your makeup from summer to fall. And obviously, if you love wearing summery makeup all year long, do you boo. These are just suggestions!

In the summer we tend to gravitate towards coral and pink lips. I also love to wear peachy nudes in the summer. Fall is the time to pull out your berry and dark red lips. A more brown nude lip is also so nice for fall. It’s amazing how wearing a darker lipstick can completely transform your makeup to look more fall. Some great fall lipsticks I love are the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Voyager, Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in ricco, and Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Sultry.

Along with the coral and pink lipsticks I wear in the summer, I also wear lots of coral, orange and bright pink blushes in the summer. When it comes to fall I switch to more warm nudes and berry tones in my blushes. I feel like it looks a little bit more natural and soft than the cheek looks I wear in the summer. Some of my favourite blushes for fall are the Charlotte Tillbury Cheek to Chic Blush in Pillowtalk, the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush in Alluring Rose, and Mac Cosmetics Blush in Prism.

In the summer I stick to minimal eyeshadow but when I do wear eyeshadow its brighter, corals, but of course I do wear browns. During the fall time, I definitely steer more towards dark eyeshadows. I also love wearing bronzes, rusts, and oranges. I find all of those shades so flattering for the fall. One of my all time favourite eyeshadow palettes that is perfect for fall is the Juvias Place Nubian Eyeshadow Palette. Another great option for a fall eyeshadow palette is the Huda Beauty Warm Brown Obsessions Eyeshadow palette. I don’t think they make it anymore which makes me so sad. If you can pick up any of Huda Beauty’s eyeshadow palettes, they’re amazing. Also, more new is the Essence Eyeshadow Palette in Bronzed This Way. I have a review, swatches, and an eye look here.

When it comes to bronzer, I do go a little bit lighter in the fall. I definitely don’t wear as much bronzer in the fall as I do in the summer. I don’t wear nearly the warm toned bronzer in the fall as I do in the summer. My fall bronzer is more neutral toned. One of my favourite for this is the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer.

Those are all my tips for transitioning your makeup from fun summer makeup to gorgeous fall makeup. Do you have any favourite products that you use to change over your makeup from season to season? Let me know!
