Luna Nectar Neptune Hydrate & Blur Serum Review

I was super excited one day to open my email and see that a brand had reached out to me. This never happens and I was completely thrilled. They wanted to collaborate with me and send me some products to test out. I did a little bit of research into the brand and said yes! This is a brand I’ve never heard of. It’s called Luna Nectar. It first caught my eye because my first dog and love of my life’s name is Luna (after Luna Lovegood). Looking more into the brand, Luna Nectar, I because more and more curious about their products.

I did receive the Moon Boost Lash and Brow Enhancing Serum and the Neptune Hydrate & Blur Serum for free and was so excited to start putting them to the test. The Moon Boost is going to take me a little bit longer to form an opinion.

Today I’ll be talking about the Neptune Hydrate & Blur Serum and how it worked for my skin!

Lets first talk about the company. Luna Nectar is a female owned (!!!), Canadian, vegan, cruelty free haircare and skincare brand. The brand believes in a minimalist skincare and haircare routine. They really focus on quality ingredients and making everything earth friendly. They also have a One Tree Planted initiative where they plant a tree for every Atmosphere Hair Density Serum they sell. How cool it that?

The Neptune Hydrate and Blur Serum is a hyaluronic acid serum. It’s an ocean blue coloured serum that, when applied to bare skin, leaves a matte and blurred effect on the skin. I talk about hyaluronic acid all the time and use it pretty much every day but if you’re new to the hyalauronic acid scene, it’s actually a hydrating serum that works by drawing water into your skin.

The Neptune has nourishing anti-oxidants Helichrysum, Green Tea, and Butterfly Pea flowers. This serum reduces inflammation in your skin. To get a bit sciencey here, the lower the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid, the more effective it is on your skin and the more it penetrates your skin. The Neptune is a weight 80,000 daltons which is on the lower end.

The Neptune Hydrate & Blur Serum is $32 (CAD) for 30ml.

First of all, I love that it’s blue. I don’t know why but it’s very pleasing to the eye for me. I wasn’t expecting this serum to be as thin as it is. I’m used to a thicker hyaluronic acid. But, if you don’t like thick serums, this one is great. I have been using this serum for about a week now as part of my night time routine. My skin looks so tired from working 12 hour days and I find this serum hydrates my tired looking skin. It makes my skin look more plump and fresh. Approaching my 30s, I want products that make my skin look fresh, young, and plump and this serum does it! This has a very light scent but it’s like a scentless kind of scent if that makes any sense at all.

This being a natural beauty brand, I would totally recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin. I think this would work amazingly for you!

I have also been testing out the Moon Boost Lash and Brow Enhancing Serum and will be doing a full review on that in a couple weeks!
