Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation – Best Drugstore Foundation?

Has anyone else seen the Covergirl Simply Ageless foundation floating around the drugstore for years and always been curious about it? Covergirl as a brand isn’t actually one that speaks to me. I’m more of a Maybelline, Essence, ELF girl. But this foundation was actually on clearance at my Shoppers Drug Mart and they just happened to have a shade I thought would match me. The Covergirl Simply Ageless Powder in translucent is my holy grail for setting underneath my eyes. So I picked it up to test it out.

Today I’ll be doing a full review on the Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation.

This foundation actually became more popular in the last few months because of Tik Tok. It has been said on Tik Tok that this foundation is a dupe for the KVD Good Apple Foundation which was super popular a couple months ago. I honestly didnt think I would like this foundation for whatever reason so I never picked it up. But after watching a few videos on it (and it being on clearance), I had to calm my curiosity.

The Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation has been around for years. This is a cream formula that is supposed to fight the signs of aging. It will glide over wrinkles instead of settling in them. It also contains Olay skincare technology. Some benefits of this foundation are hyaluronic complex and vitamin C to brighten and hydrate the skin. It also contains Niacinamide which boosts skin’s radiance and strengthens its protective barrier function. Also, it has some sun protection of SPF 28.

It looks like this foundation comes in 11-12 shades. The shades are not good, it doesn’t come in any deep shades. In this day and age, every foundation should come in at least 20 shades, in my opinion.

I purchased this foundation on clearance for $5 but it looks like full price it is around $18. Kind of a steep price for a drugstore foundation. But, if it’s amazing then it might be worth it.

I find the concept and look of this foundation really interesting. It’s a cream formula and I am not all that familiar with cream formulas. It also has these spirals of skincare ingredients which sounds really nice.

I first went in and applied this foundation with the little sponge applicator it came with. This was a really nice way to apply the foundation but I went in with my Beauty Blender to blend it in and smooth it out. I really liked this way of applying it. I have also gone in with a brush first but ended up having to go in with my beauty blender to really blend it in.

I didn’t expect to like this foundation as much as I do. It is a true medium coverage and doesn’t really build up to full coverage without looking cakey but I’m okay with a medium coverage. It made my skin look pretty flawless without settling into fine lines. I would say it has a natural finish on the skin. Doesn’t look overly dewy but it isn’t a flat matte. It is a very much so your-skin-but-better foundation.

It blended out really easily on my skin. For how creamy this product is, it stayed on my skin really well. I can get a good 8 hours of wear time on this foundation before it starts to break up and look gross on my skin.

Like I said, I’m really surprised with how much I like this foundation. I’m not sure how well it would work on someone with oily skin but normal to dry skin would love this foundation. I’m also going to recommend this to my mom who is in her 50s. I think she would love it.

Let me know if you’ve tried this foundation and what you think!
