Kat Von D: Shade and Light
I recently got the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette ($55 CAD) and have quickly become obsessed with it. Since getting the face contour palette I have been lusting over the Eye Contour Palette ($55 CAD) so I decided to bite the bullet and buy it.
The face contour kit comes with 3 highlight shades and 3 contour shades. Kat Von D’s powder formulation is amazing. All the powders feel so smooth and apply like a dream.
The three highlight shades are on the peachy, yellow color spectrum which I know is very popular for setting underage concealer.
The color subconscious (the lightest shade) is the perfect contour color for me being of light skin and the other two colors could definitely work for someone who has darker skin than I do.
The Eye Contour Palette comes with 12 matte shadows. These shadows can be combined to make so many different looks.
The shadows are meant to be in 3 different quads; warm tones, cool tones, and neutral tones. This concept is so cool and different to me. This eye palette is perfect for someone who likes to change up their look. All of these shadows are very smooth and blendable. I didn’t find these shades to be very powdery or have a lot of powder ‘kick up’ when using a brush. I like this palette because you can create an entire eye look with it. It has excellent lid shades, crease shades, liner shades, and highlight shades.
I think both of these palettes are awesome and such cool concepts. The eye palette is actually the stand out for me in this Shade and Light line because of the pigmentation of the shadows and the concept of the palette. With this palette you definitely get what you pay for!!
