The Brow Wax War – Patrick Ta vs. ABH vs. Makeup Revolution

Does anyone else dread doing their eyebrows? Mine never turn out looking the same. They usually aren’t even sisters but distant cousins. The trend of really intense eyebrows always stressed me out because I could never get mine to look that good.

But, this year, a whole new eyebrow trend came out. The laminated/feathery brow. Hallelujah. This trend is barely filled in brows that look feathery and undone. You would think this trend would use hardly any products. Well, you’d be wrong. Lot’s of brands have come out with brand new brow waxes and gels that make your brows look super wispy and stay like that all day.

Today, I’ll be putting three different ones to the test; the Patrick Ta Major Brow Lamination Gel, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze, and the Makeup Revolution Soap Brow.

This new trend wants you to put down your tweezers and embrace your thick eyebrows. You can add this trend into your current brow routine or use only this trend. What I love is that it’s not so intense that I feel like you can do this to your brows and do nothing else to your makeup and you’ll look more put together.

This actually started with people using bars of soap and a spoolie. They would use the bar of soap to make their brows look super wispy and stay in place. Since then, many brands have come out with products to give you the feathery look.

Lets start out with the product that is probably the most popular and the most well know – the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze. This is a brow wax that lifts, tames, and sculpts your brow hair. It does require you to own a spoolie. To apply, you actually take some product on your spoolie and rub it around on the inside of the cap to distribute throughout the brush. You brush on clean brows and create what ever shape you want. You can then press the brows down with the handle of the spoolie.

I absolutely love this product. It lets me control really easily what I’m doing to my brows and I can control the shape of them. A little bit of this product goes a long way so I can see this lasting for a long time. I can create such a gorgeous and fluffy eye brow with this. This is literally like extra hold hairspray for your brows.

Next lets talk about a product I was super excited to try. This is the Patrick Ta Major Brow Lamination Gel. This is more your typical brow gel and is an all in one product. It is a clear gel that has the gel and applicator in one.

I love love love the applicator of this product. It is so fine and you can really get in to where you need to. I do find you need to work quickly with this product. It dries on your brows really quickly. What I do is go in with a really light layer first, do another dip, and then as the product is drying do my feathered look. It lasts really nice in the brows. All that being said, I like the ABH one better. Sorry, Patrick Ta.

Last but certainly not least, I tested out a drugstore option. The Makeup Revolution Soap Brow is the most true to the original “soap” trend with brows. The soap brow comes with an applicator that sucks. Lets just get that out of the way. Use your own spoolie. This product is meant to keep your brows looking full and fluffy while keeping your hairs in place. This is a solid product while the ABH one is more of a sticky gel in a pot.

I’m really glad I bought this for a drugstore option for fluffy brows. This does a great job of making your brows looking full. I can actually define my wispies. I also love that this product comes in a compact with a mirror. The mirror makes a huge difference. If you’re on more of a budget and want the feathery brow trend, this is a great option.

What do you think of this new brow trend? Have you tried it?
