YSL Matte Lip Stain | Review

Does anyone else find it funny that I just decluttered liquid lips and my next post is a review on liquid lipsticks? No? Just me? 

I can’t stay away from liquid lipsticks. If I hear anything positive about a new liquid lipstick, I have to have it. So, when I saw Tati from GlamLifeGuru’s review on the new YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain and how impressed she was with them I knew I had to have them. 

So, today I’ll be talking all about the newest addition to my liquid lipstick collection!

These are a lightweight matte lip stain with high-impact colour and a naked-lip feel. These are said to be tattoo-like, non-drying, and ultra comfortable to wear. These are supposed to have an 8 hour wear time. 

These are $42 (CAD) and can be purchased on the sephora website here. 

The packaging on these is super nice. I love the frosted glass of the tubes – it’s so fancy. The smell of these is also really nice. It smells like all of the other YSL lip products which is a bit fruity. 

The applicator is also really cool and innovative on these liquid lip stains. It’s sort of square with a slanted tip. It’s really easy to get a nice sharp line. 

The colours I got are; number 1 which is a vibrant pink red and number 11 which is a nude rose. I’m so obsessed with number 1. It is the most gorgeous and flattering red I’ve ever used. It makes my teeth look extremely white and would look really nice on a lot of skin tones. This colour screams holiday to me. 

I completely agree with all of the claims of this Matte Lip Stain. It lasts about 6-8 hours on my lips, is super comfortable on the lips, completely non drying, and the pigment is amazing. I would describe the finish as more of a satin matte and not a full matte. 

I wish the price point was a little better but you can’t really expect that from YSL.

I really love these Matte Lip Stains and can’t wait to get more of them!
