Favourite Drugstore Makeup

Luxury makeup is nice and everything but there is nothing like the rush of finding an amazing makeup product at an affordable price. Knowing you can create an expensive look with drugstore products is one of the best feelings. Wow, this is making me feel like I need to get out more.

I get asked all the time, what my favourite products at the drugstore are so I thought I would round them up and talk about all my fav drugstore makeup products.

One of the products I really don’t think needs to be high end to be effective is mascara. My favourite mascara is the Maybelline Lash Sensational in very black waterproof. I need to use waterproof mascara to maintain any type of curl in my lashes and this one does a great job. It separates, defines my lashes, and adds a good amount of volume.

I’m a little bit picky with foundation. I need something with medium to full coverage, natural or dewy finish, won’t make me look dry, and has a shade that matches me. The Physicians Formula The Healthy Foundation meets all of my criteria. It’s a lightweight foundation that provides medium coverage and it’s super natural looking. This foundation makes my skin look incredible.

I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone that the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer landed on my favourites list. The colour is perfect, it blends out perfect, it smells perfect, and its just a perfect bronzer. It comes in 4 different shades and I’ll recommend this bronzer until I go blue in the face.

To give me an amazing summertime glow with a wet looking cheek, I love to use the Wet N Wild Loose Highlighting Powder. I have the colour, I’m So Lit and its absolutely perfect for me. It gives me a blinding glow when I’m looking for it.

In my humble opinion, sponges are the only way to apply foundation and concealer. I like the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge better than the original beauty blender. I find it blends out my foundation and concealer better. It makes my complexion look flawless. It’s super bouncy and if you can catch it on sale, it’s less than $10.

I think Wet N Wild makes the best drugstore eyeshadows. It’s actually the mattes I like the best in all of the Wet N Wild Color Icon eyeshadows. The 10 pan eyeshadow palettes are my favourites and I love the Not A Basic Peach palette. I can create gorgeous looks from this palette. The price cannot be beat on this palettes!

I’ve spoken about the Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink liquid lipsticks a lot in the past and my opinion hasn’t changed. I love them so much. They are super long-lasting but not drying on the lips at all. They do transfer but are my go to liquid lipsticks if I want it to last all day but not hurt my lips.
